New Look dDN Network

Natalie's Dad

On January 19th, 2011 my beloved father lost his battle with early onset dementia. He died aged 66, after being diagnosed at age 54 and fighting the disease courageously thereafter.

My father's illness has always been the inspiration for this website, and so I felt it was only appropriate that I should mark his passing in some way. I noted that the

header on the website stated that 'We know dementia because we are living it too' and realised that needed to change, as we were no longer 'living' it but could now only say that we had 'lived' it.

So with thoughts that things had changed and it was time to change as well, I set about updating and redesigning Daily Dementia News. Despite my father's passing it was important to me that the site should continue, and that I work once more with a renewed focus on making it a website that has lots of information that is easy to access.

I am hoping that the new layout will make it easier for visitors to navigate their way around the site and find the information that they are seeking. If there is any symbolism to the new design it would be that dDN has moved from the darkness into the light, and that I hope that this light will help to guide others on their respective dementia journeys.
